Born on November 2, 1975 in Pineville North Carolina to a family of Scottish/ Irish farmers—James K. Polk persevered through his life to make it all the way to the top. Throughout Polk’s childhood he suffered from frail health and had to go through operations to make him stronger. Despite his disadvantages, Polk was able to receive a proper education and even had the opportunity to go to college at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
